About

We Create Awesome Stuff

We are Lorna and Russel Hutcheson and are located in rural Ayrshire, Scotland. Having met at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, we married in 1990 and have been a creative team ever since. Kingsley Media was established in 1994 as a traditional graphic design business which continues in parallel as a B2B concern, with Russel serving broadcast and print media.

Hutcheson Art exists to promote Lorna's return to her love of fine art and talent as a qualified make-up artist.

With completely different, yet complementary, skills sets we make the perfect team.

Think of an Idea

Landscape, seascape, portrait, pets or a special location? Any meaningful subject can be painted for you.

Got the T-shirt

With years of experience in the creative industries we have been an influence for innovation with many corporate PLC companies. We also work with small businesses and sole independent traders as we believe good design is a universal aspiration.

Client Support

Art can be a very collaborative process. Lorna likes to talk. Russel, not so much! Let's get to know you and help achieve the best results.

How We Work

We like an informal meeting over a tea or coffee to hear about your prospective commission. Together we'll find a solution to meet your budget and expectations. Your happiness from start to finish is our aim and you may be introduced to something new and exciting?

Let's meet

A no-obligation chat is the best first step in the commissioning process.

Cost approval

No hidden surprises. We will agree the size and style before we start.

Ideas time

Endless possibilities mean we may test out a few ideas to see what you like best.

Creative chemistry

Let's choose the medium together that suits your commission.

Thank You

After a very successful run 'Promise' closed to the public on 23 August 2019. It was a fantastic experience.

Lorna would like to thank everyone that took the time to visit and for their kind words and continued support.

At this difficult time with the coronavirus pandemic, she wishes everyone a safe transition through it. She is looking forward to re-engaging with you all, in art, as soon as possible.

KingsleyMedia

"Oi, what are you doing here?", I hear you ask.

When Kingsley Media was created back in 1994 the Internet was in its infancy and Mark Zuckerberg was probably more interested in facepaint, being only 10? Like all new technologies it was a bit basic, and consequently it was relatively easy to dabble in its design. The Kingsley Media web site is now looking a bit dated so we've retired it for the moment as we've not needed to follow that particular curve. So, just to be clear, we don't do web sites! Kingsley Media continues with its B2B remit, serving established broadcast and media clients.

Television
Graphics

Over 30 years of experience in live broadcast television with the BBC, STV and independents, including numerous Elections and major sporting events. Also involved with current affairs, having contributed to major programmes around significant Scottish news stories such as Piper Alpha, Lockerbie and Dunblane. Russel enjoyed eight years as the graphics supervisor on BBC's Antiques Road Trip and provides motion graphic content for syndicated Scottish football highlights.

Sports
Photography

Until recently, a regular contributor to non-league football coverage for the Scottish Sun and general sports coverage on an ad hoc basis for SportPix agency, Russel's photographs have featured in many Scottish newspapers and online.

Digital
Production

We are happy to assist with other people's output, bridging old school skills with the latest industry software suites. We still have a Letraset burnisher and are dab hands with a ruler and scalpel, and still have all our fingers to prove it!

Traditional
Print

We can still turn our hands to creating artwork for the printed page or designing specific content. Any excuse for Lorna to inhale the fumes from press inks!
